BJA Architects has been involved in the planning and design of several types of sports facilities including a Stadium, Swimming pool complexes, Health spas and Sports fields which have included changing facilities. Currently BJA is involved with designs of recreational swimming pools for some tourist facilities.

We have designed swimming pools and Health Spas and are currently involved with the development of a major aquatic pool centre and has obtained resource consent for converting it into a new complex with new Conference and restaurant facilities and brand new public areas and foyers. The new design has lifts and new commercial food catering kitchens and the upgraded pools. Siteworks are underway.

We designed a major stadium complex for a site oversea client with corporate boxes and food catering facilities. The Stadium will serve as a multi purpose recreation complex for sporting activities.

We were engaged to design a new Waka Ama Boating Club facility for a Council’s site at Manakau Harbour next to the new Motorway. This Waka Ama canoe and boating club has a large membership catering for events like Waka Ama canoe racing which is a popular water sports.

The development also makes provision for a local community centre providing a Pacific Island Performance Centre and an outdoor performance stage with long broad walks to the water edge. The Waka Ama club will have its own space for waka and boat repairs as well as areas to run competitions. The design also caters for play fields, parking, tennis courts, rugby fields community hall and a child care centre. 

The community hall will be used for public functions with dining and restaurant facilities.
